Overall, I really like the look of them though, I could easily imagine getting these to decorate my LEGO room (though finding space is increasingly being an issue). But it will be interesting to see how many will need these for their collection, given the cost. The two buildable models stand over 10 in. With 1,673 pieces, it is by far the largest of the 2021 sets revealed. It is a large set, allowing you to build to large scale “minifigures” of Harry Potter and Hermione Granger. Of the new series of 2021 sets, this set is probably the one, I am most surprised by. It comes with a small stand with Dumbledore and Fawkes in minifigure scale, similar to the 2020 Hedwig set, which had Harry Potter and Hedwig included on a similar stand. It is not that I don’t like it – I had just expected something different. This is basically the 2020 Hedwig set in new colours.
I had expected LEGO would release another display piece, with some kinetic movement, but had guessed it would be something different, like the Golden Snitch. This buildable model of Fawkes with moving mechanical wings surprised me somewhat. The following with be updated with prices in other currencies as they become available. Not being minifigure scale, this model was designed for display by Harry Potter fans, maybe building on the success of the Brickheadz series of figures.
